Jason there are two reasons why politicans do ill. Yes no reason is because more than a few do not know any better. Former President Carter comes to mind. I've met him, and have a good deal of respect for the man, yet, there is no denying that he was not firmly in control of his administration. These leaders can be taught. When you consider that almost no one knows the job until they have the job, had the man in question won, his ability to damage the public trust is far more limited than we might expect. The second reason that politicians do poorly is because many are opportunist who by design fail to meet the publics objective in favor of their own. These leaders are the more dangerous ones, and their ability to destroy the public's will. These insidious politicans are the ones I fear. I would prefer a dumb leader to an opportunist anyday. We can teach which plan is right, yet, if one isn't motivated by a desire to do right, what is there to teach?
