Manual/info for SHAW tractor - IH Cub-size with B&S 1-lunger

My friend Dave just showed up with a (he says)
Shaw tractor. Same size as a Cub or MH Pony,
B&S 1-lunger about 12 hp, automotive disk-type
clutch, differential, no hydraulics. It has
band brakes on the shafts from the differential
(power then goes thru step-down gears to rear
wheels - like a Farmall 300/350). The cavities
for the brakes are filled with oil - and we
can't tell if they should be. Any experience
or anyone know who might stock a manual?
