thanks guys, i wedged my body in the engine bay of the excavater and the flywneel is ok, it has very minimal wear, so the problem has to lay in the starter, im used to chevy/ford type starters so this kind is new to me, i orderd it thru the local carquest where a long time friend workes, [ a older gent who knows where all the odball stuff can be found] we'll see what happens the excavators owner took a backstep at the price, but i reminded him that thing aint a 350 chevy and out here were lucky to even find one, on my bench test, thanks, yes my bench setup is very minimal, so i guess thats why it doesnt work, probably isnt getting enough amps with jumper cables to work this starter, it will work on the common ones but i know some starters require more than others to work, no rebuild shops around here anymore, todays throw away mind set i guess only us older people remember when you fixed what you had instead of buying new,
