Richard: I'm not familiar with the particular tractor you mentioned, but I have a fair bit of experience using a front-end loader for the type of work you describe. Mine is a 60" wide bucket on a John Deere #67 loader mounted on a John Deere 750 tractor. The tractor is a 20HP diesel, and the bucket is rated for 700#... This is adequate for 90% of what I do. It is not well-suited to "peeling" up sod or cutting large amounts of packed gravel, primarily because the frame of the loader is not rugged enough to take the abuse, and the tractor is not heavy enough to provide adequate traction. Other than that, it's great. I have spread and leveled 14 yard loads of gravel and rough fill quite successfully, and it beats the heck out of a shovel and a wheelbarrow for moving loam around when seeding lawns, planting shrubs/trees and the like. It's kind of like a computer...before you have one, you're not quite sure what you'd do with it...after you've had it a while, you can't imagine how you got along without it! Hope this helps.
