Sister in law was getting abused. Brothers in laws went and had a meeting, just talk. Did no good, he promptly beat her again for us getting involved. I called his brother, he and 2 other brothers, flew into town from different parts of the country and lit him up. No one called the cops and he never touched her again. That was 20+ years ago. He was a different person and got fun to be around after that.
Might try to see if there are any other family members that can go talk to him.
If that doesn't work get an attorney involved. Find one that will do it for cheap or free. There are a lot of good attorneys that will get involved in a scenario like this.
