Cub Cadet PTO Control switch

Does anyone know why my PTO switch continually fails. I've gone through two rather quickly and can't seem to find the problem. It seems unlikely that two switches would be bad. I have a series 2000 tractor, model # 2185, 18hp Kohler engine with a 48" mower deck. Any suggestion would be helpful....at $18 a pop I can't afford to many more trials. Thanks
