: Does anyone know why my PTO switch continually fails. I've gone through two rather quickly and can't seem to find the problem. It seems unlikely that two switches would be bad. I have a series 2000 tractor, model # 2185, 18hp Kohler engine with a 48" mower deck. Any suggestion would be helpful....at $18 a pop I can't afford to many more trials. Thanks Can you determine the nature of the switch failure? I have a older version of I think the same tractor 1872 Cub Cadet. I had some intermitant shut off problems and replaced the relay and other stuff and all that I accomplished was spend money. I later discovered that I had a bad connetion on the ignition switch which supplied the power to the electric clutch. I had to replace the ignition switch and replace the terminal on the wire harness, sort of a jerry rig, or spend more money to replace the entire wiring harness. I couldn't buy just the plug to the ignition switch. Send me an e-mail and maybe I can help you some more.
