Since everyone was beatin" up on "Mother Deere" and Seller last week, (me too, but I was gentle, and only a wee bit!) I decided that some credit was due: Replacing the front bearings and seals on the "48 A roll-o-matic, I bought the after market kits: both inner and outter bearings and the two felt seals (enough money even after market at $86.00 per side, but better than Deere!) but I was unable to get the tin retainers out with out destroying them (1st time they"d been out since they were put in in "48 it appears) and neither they nor the hub gaskets were available after market. I clenched my, jaw, sat down and called Deere...SURPRISE!!!!!!! Only $11.00 per for the retainers and $7.00 for the 2 gaskets! VERY REASONABLE in MHO! AND guess what? I know that they will 100% fit! AND, they were in stock! YeeHaw BTW they have oil filters in stock for that tractor too, unlike NonTractor Supply!

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
