i wouldnt mind paying extra for good parts, but around here if i walk in the dealer i see the same parts and brands i find at the local hobby farmer store or online at a higher price.I look at the part and it has the exact writing and part number in a different box that i'm throwing away anyhow. Again, if those parts were truly oem quality that worked for years, i would have no problem at all with them, but thats not always the case. after lots of years working on this stuff i do know the value of good parts,theres simply a false economy in buying parts that last a third or less as long,but the color of the box is meaningless. the sad fact is that if the chinese were to stop supplying parts,most of this stuff would be unrepairable in a surprisingly short amount of time. A good example is tillage equipment parts. heard a well known manufacturer of farm equipment say just the other day on tv that he buys every part he can made in the US.even though this equipment is considered to be some of the best,he cannot buy ground engaging parts in the US anywhere.its all chinese/japanese made.simply because no one here makes it.his equipment is twice the price of one made overseas,but it out of neccesity uses the exact wear parts as the half priced brands.to a person who never would wear out even a cheaply made piece of equipment in his lifetime where is the economy in buying a frame made in the us?when the points,bottom parts wear out the same as the high priced ones, where is the incentive? i personaly simply believe that if your going to sell these parts for more the quality should be there also.i also understand that dealers have more overhead and costs than the on line folks also.I try to buy US made stuff,but i refuse to pay extra for a us made box.
