Went to the Pageant of Steam yesterday...The tractor part of the show was as usuall great, and if steam power is your thing, there was alot there to enjoy. As usual I saw 2 or three vendors selling tractor parts, a couple others selling tractor related stuff, but the rest were selling flea market junk so skipped most of that area! Watched the pull which was good except I felt bad for the 5 or 6 guys that obviously believed the "stock" part of the ad saying there was a stock pull, they didn't make out so well. Finally got sick of looking at WC ACs stipped down to nothing except the engines, headers, trannies, and electrinic ignitions, and oh yeah the 38" rubber whic was explained by the annouoncer: "since AC offered a high crop with 38" rubber they are allowed to run that." Ida figured if ya are gonna show with the high crop wheels, ya better bring the rest of the high crop parts too? Did get one laugh when the guy in charge of the pull told drivers they weren't allowed to lean backward in the seat! Hard to find a truly stock pull to watch or participate in huh? Great show though...lots Minnie Mos!
