Just went down to Omaha this morning and listened to Temple Grandin speak. Very interesting insight. For those of you who don't know who she is, she is an autistic lady who has a PHD and is involved with the cattle industry. She overcame many of the obstacles of being autistic and went on to design cattle loading chutes and other catle handling facilities to make working with them easier. Many of the packing plants now use her ideas. She is also an activist for people with autism, which is what her talk involved. She has written several books and had a movie made about her which was very good. To keep it tractor related, while there a gentleman noticed my Red Power Roundup shirt and commented on it. It turned out he was an insurance adjuster and sculpter with Aspergers Syndrome who LIKES OLD FARM EQUIPMENT! There were other speakers also, mainly pointing out effective ways to help kids in the autism spectrum. Really makes a person appreciate how some people dedicate their lives to making other peoples lives easier.
