saw a post below that asked the question is it worth canning tomatoes, they are cheap at sams club, It made me think of this story I would like to tell, Just below where I have the big garden a lady almost ninety lives in the old farm house , she has lived on that farm all her life . ,When I started planting the garden above her field she told me she liked watermelons,so I tried planting some Just last week I started picking some ,a bunch of them rotted, and some were ok,but small,I thought to myself it wasnt worth it,I could buy a few cheap, and better looking than the crappy ones I grew, but I took them down to her house along with some tomatoes,She came out on her porch and said watermelon, thanks, and just the right size for one person! I think if you offerd her 100 dollars for those measly watermelons she would not take it, This weekend I picked some crimson sweet and took her one and she told me how good last weeks were, I walked away thinking ,,,yes it was worth it!!!
