I know exactly how you feel. Dogs are like family. Here's a pic of my Dutch just a few yews ago. Now he has lumps all over, ( vet says to not worry to much about that), his left eye is almost shut due to a mast cell tumor and his hind legs don't work too well either. You won't believe what the vet wants to do about the eyelid! I just don't want to put Dutch through all that. He still eats well and shows my wife and I lots of love every day. He's only 12 years old, but I know large dogs don't live as long as others. It will be a sad day when we have to put him down, but I know that day is not too far in the future. He grew up with our boys and had a major impact on our youngest son who went on to be an Army Ranger, eventually specializing in K-9 operations, and is still training K-9 dogs and other Ranger dog handlers today. While it may never replace your friend of many years, a new puppy may well be the healing that you and your family needs. Don't trust anyone that doesn't like dogs!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
