We were digging up tree roots with the loader where some dozing had been done. We broke the block in front of where it bolts to the transmission housing. It broke all the way around - the crack goes from between the starter and the block clear over the top behind the cylinders, down past the injection pump, clear down to the pan on both sides. We used a tire marker to mark the cracks, but it is not showing up very well. We put a chain and binder underneath to help keep it from collapsing in the middle. I think the crankshaft is the only thing holding it together. This happened back in the spring, and since it rained today we got around to getting the loader off. It still starts up and runs fine, but leaks engine oil all over the floor now!
