I'm in New York, but just watched the TV news in northern Michigan. I have a small farm there and my next-door neighbor seems to be in trouble. The TV news says she's being held in the Rogers City jail (I didn't even know they had one there).
I'm curious just how bad those animals really are. I live there every summer and there are always horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, and a llama running up and down the road loose. I've chased them out of my backyard several times when they were tearing up our trees. I never noticed any that looked real sick but have seen them almost get hit on the highway. This is in the small settlement of Hawks, Bismarck Township, Presque Isle County. Not too far from the Mac Bridge.
BISMARCK TOWNSHIP - A Hawks woman is accused of neglecting about three dozen animals, including about 30 horses, after Presque Isle County sheriff's deputies found them near her property, according to a press release.
The sheriff department responded Wednesday to a call of several horses running at large in a Bismarck Township field, near the property of Christine Thompson, 33, according to the release. As the animals' owner, she's been charged with multiple counts of animal abuse or neglect after deputies found about thirty horses, three dogs and three pigs near her property, all in various stages of neglect.
The animals are being removed to another, unspecified, location and are being evaluated by an Alpena area veterinary, according to the release.
Presque Isle County District Court files show Thompson is set to be arraigned on Nov. 20 at 10 a.m., according to Kristy Hardies, court administrator.

I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
