Really not trying to take sides here but do you know just how many bands have gone into the studio to record with studio musicians and the band members say "I can't do that" and get told by the the label that they have to after the new album is release and they go on tour. A heck of a lot of the best musicians make their living as studio players but for certain reasons have no desire to be on stage. Could be stage fright or could be family or anything in between. Face it, it's gotten to the point where so so musicians can make it big time if they have stage presents and a good stage show. Been that way for a number of years. There is one guy, for the life of me I can't remember his name now, (CRS kicking in) who isn't a party boy and would spend his days on a tour bus getting on everyones case about practicing that was fired from more than one band in the 80's and early 90's because he wanted to be perfect and it was messing with bands members who wanted to party. I read some place that when they went to sign Bruce Springsteen that they only wanted him and told him that they would get better musicians to play for him. He refused to sign without his band.
I play a little and freely admit that I have no talent.......I play for others for 2 reasons.......personal pleasure and revenge.

I think the furthest has been the Two Cylinder 7 in the Amana Colonies last year. Lots of stuff, lots of people. I've also atten
