Ma hen will come at your face feet first with her claws and beat her wings against your ears at the same time. Your garden hoe won't be enough to deter her from protecting her hatchlings. Small children will be most at risk. Everyone enjoys wildlife but near the house is not the place for them. Better if they learn boundaries. Keep feed and water available if you want them around but don't feed near the house or you may regret it.
