We built our first house on a corner of the home farm in 1978 and moved in with two kids on Thanksgiving 1978. I was working full time off farm, so we had to move on a holiday. 14 years later (also on Thanksgiving) we moved into a new house we built a mile down the road on our own farm. Between those dates it became clear there was no room for me at the home farm, I had quit my job, and I had rented, then bought land a mile west. When we sold the first house(1.5 acres had been deeded to me) I asked Dad if he wanted me to keep making payments on the note so he could earn more interest, or if he wanted me to pay it off. He chose to get paid off. He passed away unexpectedly about 2 weeks later on Dec. 6, 1992. By April, mother had, without telling us other three siblings, given EVERYTHING to baby brother! So the first wife(from 1973) is here with me in our second house, and hopefully(if some deferred income shows up like it should) in a few days I will make the final payment on more land I had bought in 1998, and have NO debt! Happy New Year to you John.

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
