Got my speeding ticket in van about 6 months back- first in maybe 15 years. 84 in a 65 zone, van was a 85 chevy C20 used for hualing people to church after minvan transmission got sick and had a couple litle minor mechanical issues- door handle, taillight burned out--and broken speedometer cable. Followed trafic but they turned off, nice morning, van engine had been replaced with new 350 by previous owner before going to nursing home and son got it to haul dog to vet, I gave it new aircleaner and oil change- so the old van with basicly broke in new engine saved from salvage yard is happy to cruise on highway nice and smooth a "little" over limit right into radar beam. Replaced taillight bulb, vise grip on door handle and speedo cable replaced, then replaced again as warantee when first broke 2 weeks later- was planning to replace cable but procrastinated about $230.00 worth. Since I now have working speedometer, try to remain just under limit- but the engine doesn"t sound as happy, when it starts quiet happy hum instead of little rumble I check quick- and slow down 10/15mph to get back to legal. Need to find it a new home in Texas where the 85mph road is where it would be happy to haul 7 people around at the limit it seems to be geared for. RN

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
