Agree 100%. I was reading the thread thinking the same thing. All of my 3 girls worked on a horse farm growing up, mucking stalls, feeding animals, stacking hay, etc. Helped to instill a good work ethic in them. I'm one of those people spoken about earlier in the thread: grew up and lived in the suburbs, nearing retirement, bought a place in the country, plan to keep horses and maybe a few other animals. Wife wondered about all the work this would be when we're in our 70's and I told her we'd just get some help, it'd be a win-win situation , hiring someone (probably a teenager) who could use some money and learn what it is to work hard and allowing us to work as hard as we wanted (or are able to) in our "golden" years.
The self-righteous attitude in some of the comments is typical of comments I hear from some of my "country" neighbors, disparaging "college-educated" yuppies, doctors, lawyers, etc., etc. moving out to "their" country. I just zip my lip when they're ranting, figuring every one is entitled to their opinion.
I DID mention to one guy after a lawyer rant that 2 of my daughters were attorneys in Washington DC and worked very hard for the very good money they make, not to mention each has a couple hundred thousand in student loans to pay off. He got kind of quiet and changed the subject.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
