First 4010 diesel I ever say, dealer had at county fair. He was standing a nickel on the hood to demonstrate how smooth it was. He wouldn't do it on the two shotters. Later in life I worked at that dealership and we never ran out of repair jobs. I worked on quite a few two bangers. They have more gears in the reduction gear housings than most modern tractors have in their transmission. Ya, they tear them up also. Sure they make good products. Would not be in bussiness if they did not but they are a long ways from perfect. Not really any different than any of the other brands. It is what you are comfortable with and familiar with. I have seen it both ways, well all ways actually. Trading a Deere for an IH, IH for a Deere, Case for a IH , Case for a Deere, even an Allis and Moline or two. Some like one , others like something different.
