Jack in Colo said: (quoted from post at 02:56:11 04/11/13) I'm getting older and disabled now, my sons have grown up and started their own lives. A couple months ago I took in a young man to help around the place with the cows and working on tractors and such, the young man grew up with my youngest son and I thought I knew him well, he was out of work so I let him stay here to help me out. shortly after he moved in the house some things come up missing, I reported it to the sheriffs dept but not much they could do, a month or so later more things started to disappear, then just today the wife was cleaning up and knocked over one of his bags and out fell a couple items that had been missing. I took his belongings and put them on the porch and told him to hit the road. I know I was a damn fool for letting it go on this long but I didn't want to believe it, of couse he wouldn't admit stealing from me but had no explaination for how the things got in his bag. Is this world getting so bad that we can't place trust in anyone now? I guess a mans handshake isn't worth anything these days and the younger generation just doesn't understand what us older folks have had to learn the hard way. Gonna be a long time before I trust anyone again.
.
Im sorry for your situation but I just gotta say it really hurts my feelings when I hear older folks classify all the younger people together and say they are worthless like that. My handshake is as gold as anything and if I tell you a mule can pick cotton you better be looking for a sack. I assume since the "younger generation" is so clueless that means your son is as well? I don't mean to come off seeming rude but I run into this mentality a lot and it really is a sore spot for me however I can understand where it comes from because agreed there are a lot of worthless individuals in this world.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
