I have a younger brother who has never really had any sort of long term employment or source of income. He's now 52 yrs. old. Was married once for about 3 yrs. and lived in MN working at a shingle factory up there but moved back to Florida when he got fired from that job and got divorced. Oh, he drove his car out on the ice that wasn't tested and fell through, a passerby pulled him out or all his problems would have ended there. He's an alcoholic, has had his driver's license pulled I don't know how many times for DUI but thankfully has never hit or hurt anyone. He's been arrested, twice, for violating a restraining order from an old girlfriend. Lives with a woman who is about 70 yrs. old in a crummy old trailer in a crummy trailer park. Bums food, cigarettes and booze off of whom ever he can. As far as I know he doesn't draw any government handouts. I sometimes wonder what will become of him having never worked enough to draw SS or have a retirement or his own investments. Really a waste of talent, he's good to talk to and pretty smart, and when you can get him to work he does pretty good, just doesn't stay with it for long. My other brother had an HVAC business down there and wanted bum brother to work for him when he was doing hurricane repair work, he lasted about 2 days and came "home", although he's never had a house or apartment of his own, ever. I've decided to NOT worry about him, he made his choices and refused any help anyone has offered.
The other brother, he's 55, sold his business several years ago, lives with a beautiful woman in a nice condo near the water in Tampa and has plenty of money to buy what he wants, travel and to last him through his retirement. I dont' worry about him either.
