: I have blown a hole in the cylinder wall of the engine block. It is about the size of a nickel. There are also two grooves in the wall from the piston being blown. What are my options for fixing. A new stock engine is too expensive so, I was wondering if it could be welded and then rebored or if a sleeve insert could be put in. Any knowledable info would be greatly appreciated. My best advice from my own experience is to find a good used block, have it cleaned & magnafluxed for cracks; resleave it or have it bored & sleaved & rebuild it from there. A good block will cost as much as $400 but it'll be worth it unless you want to spend a lot more than that getting your old cracked block thought to be fixed & worry about it leaking again. Good luck. Gerry
