If you take the turnpike west from Philly, take I-83 north, to I-81 south, and as soon as you are on 81, get to the right lane, to take 322 west. Just be sure to keep up with your road signs, it can get a little crazy keeping up with where you are in a few spots.
Once you leave State College, take US220/ I99 north to I-80 west, and it will hook back up with the Ohio Turnpike just west of Youngstown. It'll save you a bundle on tolls.
There is a truck stop with decent food on the right, right after you cross the river, on 322, Duncannon I think. At least they used to, Pilot's probably bought them out since I was there.
You can take 322 west out of State College, but it nearly parallels I-80 and takes a ton more time.
I haven't been to APD in nearly 20 years. Hoping to get to Husker Harvest Days again this year. Largest fully irrigated farm show.
Side note: Did they get the narrows project done on 322? Seems last time I was through there they had traffic all on one side working on the other.
