I have an MX track and a club was looking at having an event moved there after another track couldn't have it. The other track had the local town ambulance volunteer their services but the club wants me to foot the $1200 ambulance fee with no guarantee's on how much I'd take in. This is addition to having the track fully prepped and watered which is a lot of work to begin with. I said I'd need a guarantee of around $2000 for it to be worthwhile for me. I said paying so much a rider or set fee would be a better option. I don't think I should have to subsidize a clubs race and take the risk. In the past I was paid $20/rider and only about 20 riders showed up. This would be a bigger event but I'd need a big turnout to get 80 riders and more likely there'd be maybe 60 riders. Would you have turned them down too? I had an event scheduled with another club but they paid a straight $1000 for the use of a prepped track and they provided everything else.
