They like us seem to be different amongst each other. I had one that was under the porch for 8 years, the way its built, none that have been under there can do anything harmful but dig up dry gravel that probably collapses on itself, its kind of a box filled with it, so he got very tame and really was never any trouble like others are now. The favorite food that got him out every time was a light fluffy dinner roll, a white bread, with a light crust that a local baking outfit makes, kind of an all natural, soft hoagie roll and other shapes, he just loved that stuff, would climb up on my knee to have it. To be honest, its a great roll for sausage and peppers, they don't last long with no preservatives, but are a favorite of many around here. No other 'chuck would touch this bread, I tried it, even by hand when one would literally poke his head out, take a sniff, would not take it.
Theres something he will go for, you just have to find it. A nice over ripe banana pushes a nice strong odor and even though the one I just can't get in the double door old hav a hart trap, he will crowd the trap after it goes off, and see if he can still get some and has gotten some of the bait and escaped too, so it works, just the trap is giving me fits or he's just outsmarted me, and I will say this, they are real smart, kinda why I have a little respect for em.
