My friend's wife Grace,is a gentle soul. The groundhogs were tearing up her garden and she still would not let him take action with his 22. One day she said to him, "I've replanted the dam thing once again. I want you to shoot any groundhog you see." Larry was only too happy to oblige. Next day Larry shows up with a big yellow stink bomb he'd gotten from his favorite uncle. He told his wife to stay inside as he was gong to be shooting up the place in a few minutes. He didn't tell her his plan. He was going to put the stink bomb in the groundhog hole and when they came up their excape holes to get away from the smoke he would get them with his 22. She went back into the house. Larry lit the stink bomb and put it deep in a hole. He had a vantage point to watch the edges of the garden for any excaping groundhogs. None showed. Shortly Grace came running out the house. What the hell are you doing she screamed. Larry looked back toward the house and saw Grace on the front porch. The front door was open. Thick yellow smoke was coming out the door behind her.... It turns out the ground hogs had connected a short tunnel into the crawl space of the house. Larry never did live that one down. I told him I'd bet the groundhogs were off in the weeds with gas masks on flipping him the bird.
