Tell you what G1355, come here, and tell me I'm lying to my face about the CaseIH factory rep telling me what he told me. What on earth would I gain by lying about that. I don't own stock in JD. I own two items made by JD, both purchased used. He told me in detail about the Turkish made tractors CaseIH was offering in the size class I was looking at. He recommended JD, MF or Kubota. He wasn't going to get fired unless someone like me was going to turn him in. Guy was giving me his best opinion. Why would I turn him in?

I know all about AGCO's parts. I will never again buy anything, new or used that requires their support, or lack there of unless they change the way they are doing business.

Now a few years ago I was working as an auto mechanic. In our area at the time out of every 10 vehicles you saw on the road, 3 were Ford and 3 were GM. 2 were others (Toyota, Honda ECT.) and 2 were Chrysler products. As a mechanic in an independent shop fully 1/2 of our business was working on Chrysler products. Now explain that disparity! Work on a Ford truck and it was a clutch or a starter. Same with GM. Dodge it was tranny or engine most of the time. I've owned multiple Fords and GMs, a couple of AMCs years ago, 2 Jeeps and 2 Chryslers. I will never buy another vehicle made with the Chrysler name again. Ever! I'd rather walk cause it sure beats pushing or paying for towing. And after serving 3 full tours in Germany and knowing what the general European opinion of Fait is I will not buy a vehicle from them. Standard joke about Fiat among American soldiers was that Fiat was the only car in the world, guarantied to come from the factory with at least 3 rust spots on it.

See CaseIH was OK even after Fiat bought it for a long time until Fiat started asserting their influence into the company. When they handled it as a stand alone company they did OK. Now Fiat is trying to maximize profits by cutting corners. Having stuff built by the cheapest bidders while ignoring quality control.

When I was pricing tractors in the 60-80 HP class range, full cab, MFW with loader JD wasn't anywhere near double in price as you claim.

Rick

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
