I can't do the picture thing but I want to tell you about my friend Leo. He was a tail gunner on Lancaster Bombers with the RCAF. He and and my Dad shared equipment and labour on the farm before I was born. Dad had to leave the farm due to his health when I was about 4 or 5. Leo was my hero because he still farmed ( no offence Dad). It wasn't until my later years as I came to understand the sacrifices that our Veterans made that I came to think of Leo as a different kind of hero. I am sure he, as many others like him, had a whole different outlook on life after the war. Leo never was in a hurry. That doesn't mean he was lazy or unproductive, he made every step count. He had a calm easy going manner which was reflected in the performance of his milk cow herd. My Dad said many times he never knew someone who could get so much milk out of so little feed. Last spring our Tractor Club toured the Canadian Warplane Museum in Hamilton. I was particularly interested in seeing the Lancaster they have in their collection (one of the few in the world that are still airworthy). I was talking to one of the volunteers at the museum about my friend Leo and he told me that 60% of the Lancaster crews didn't make it home. Leo did make it home and even though he passed 10 years ago I still think of him often. When I get in a bind or am having a tough go I think of the situations that Leo and so many like him faced and things suddenly don't seem as daunting. Thanks Leo, your still my hero!

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
