Unless your power rates are incredibly high, or unless the lights will be located somewhere that would cause them to be very tough to replace, I doubt that LED bulbs would be the best choice for what you described. The LED bulbs are just too darn expensive to buy, at least today. Maybe, and I hope they will come down in price in the future.
I have had good luck with the compact fluorescent bulbs. They don"t cost that much now, they last a lot longer than and incandescent bulb and use a whole lot less electricity than incandescents. I have had compact fluorescent bulbs last several years in locations where I never turn them off. Some of them do take a little bit of time to come to full brightness when you first turn them on, but that is not an issue if they are always on.
I still use some regular incandescent bulbs in some locations, like spots where a bulb is likely to get broken, where the light is very seldom used, or where I want the heat from the bulb for some purpose. After the government, in their "infinite wisdom", decided that incandescent bulbs could no longer be manufactured, I stocked up on a bunch of them at the very reasonable price of about 25 cents per bulb. I would guess I have a lifetime supply!
The LED bulbs use even less electricity than the compact fluorescents, and supposedly will last for many years, but at MUCH higher initial cost. For my money, the CF bulbs are a more practical solution to MY lighting needs. Good luck!
