My Christmas gifts included a cheap "multi" tool knife, a pair of socks (hate clothing for Christmas), drink rocks (WTF?) and a couple of nut crackers I don't really want.....But it was a great Christmas! The smiles on my kids and grand kids faces were fantastic! I gave two 6 year old grand daughters "Barbie" remote control cars. They just danced in joy. My 5 year old grand son was overjoyed over a JD tractor set! 11YO grandson was really pleased with a remote control chopper. 8 YO grandson (downs kid) was fascinated with a pirate castle! Even the 8 month old grand daughter was really trying to play with an age appropriate farm/barn set! 2 sons and a SIL were happy with gift cards and the daughters and DIL's were grateful for their presents. A son (we splurge on one kid a year) was overjoyed with a good quality meat injector, some hot sauce and a .22 Cal pistol. The only person mad was my wife. She was happy and mad at the same time. Basically we have enough income that we pretty much buy what we want when we want. So we stopped giving gifts to each other a couple of years ago. Got too much crap in the house as it is. She has been wanting a "tablet" for about a year now. Every time I've told her to buy one she has told me "I really hate spending money on myself". So I got her a tablet. Now she's mad cause I didn't follow the no gift thing and she didn't get me anything! So all in all a perfect Christmas with family and friends around and managed to get the wife mad without being insulting to her family!
I hope that everyone's Christmas was as good as mine!
Rick

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
