I have just spent a couple of months turning an ugly 47 Ford 8n into what looks like an almost new tractor now. I did this because I lost my job and I am going to have to sell this to hopefully keep me going till I can find work....... yeah, well... went out all proud with my boys today. Rolled it out of the barn, put gas in it and jumped it. Yeah, it will start EVEN THOUGH you cannot push the starter button in! The starter keeps spinning so obviously, I have a wire wrong. The REAL problem though is that it is in neutral and you can roll it around all over but it wont seem to go into gear. I did A LOT of work to this tractor but I NEVER TOUCHED anything to do with the transmission. How in the $%@$#% can a piece of steel sit idle and break itself. I am on the verge of taking a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge if you know what I mean..... What can you tell me?
