Hi all,
As many of you know I have this John Deere 594 Rake, (I think). I would like to confirm that all of you guys think that it is for sure a JD 594. I have seen some pictures of them online, and I have asked about this before, but I am 15, so explain it 5 or 6 more times and maybe I will remember!!! :)
Also, is there any way to find a year for one of these? I don't have any manuals for it, and I was wondering if I were to get some numbers off of it if one of you guys that does have a manual for it might be able to look it up? Or is this more of just kind of by looks? I am wondering if it is king of like my JD No.5 Mowers:
Oh, it has a jack so thats 39-45 But wait, it has this ______ so that means that it has to be from 43-45. So therefore you just kind of guess, which would be fine with me, but I would like an approximate guess at best if I could!
Also, if I was to buy books and do this myself, can I get by with just the operators, or do I need to come up with a parts one too? Ebay has operators for about $10, sounds like a deal to me!
Any information would be GREAT!!! Thanks all, Bryce

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
