the 1570 trans held as well as the 1370's did, but just a couple things can really mess up the works and it may not have been any fault of your friends at least intentionally, on the PS of that style to make them live a long life it was very important to shift them manually down and not just step on the clutch, as this will cause them to shift three time at once and while doing that it has the weight/momentum of the rolling tractor slamming the clutch packs, and can do severe damage after a time of repeating this. I have seen them tore up and then put back together wrong and or not fixed completely and or debris left in the system, this can cause one or more of the pilot spools to stick and basically having the PS in two or more gears at once, if this happens it will do major damage fast, I hate to say but there were dealers that really did not have the proper trained staff to do repairs correctly and hence the unit would fail again, I do not know if this is what happened to your friend it is just what I have seen over the years, sorry your friend had troubles if we had sold it we would have done our best to have kept him, glad he is having good luck now as no farmer needs unnecessary repairs ever cnt
