Your brake is probably rusted together. New brakes are the ones that have a better chance of becoming rusted overnight because a brake that has been used for awhile has an accumulation of brake dust in it. Try some oil on the shaft that the pedal is connected to,if this gets rusty it will prevent brake operation. And yes,the brake CAN become rusty overnight,especially new brakes like yours.
