Way back in The late 60's we 'demoed' ( and subsequently bought) one of the very first drum mowers ever to be imported into the country, a Fahr KM4 from Germany. My mother took one look at it and said "Oh cotton bobbins!" I said "Eh?" Then she went on to explain that when I was very small, maybe about 5 years old, I had apparently been playing with my Lego bricks etc. and I had stuck two empty cotton reels together underneath a frame I had made out of Lego and said that I had invented a new grass cutter, the grass goes between the two drums and gets cut!"

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
