My aunt has a '62 Ford 3000 model tractor which I'd like to convert to an alternator, since the gener ator isnt doing the job. Unfortunately that will not allow the use of the hour-meter/tach, but sacrifices must be made. Has anyone already done this conversion, and can recommend a specific type (GM, etc.) of alternator that will mount easily without many bracket mods? I have several old GM internal-reg alts that I can use, so I'd prefer to us one of them, unless another type fits easier and lines up perfectly. Any hints or tips appreciated. Thanks, Jerry
