Mount Pinatubo, in the Philippines, maybe? I think it was several months earlier, but it sure screwed up 1992. We called it the year without summer.
It was very memorable here for several reasons. We planted corn in June, which we don't like to do. We started building our shop, and had a house built at the farm. We moved from our previous house(one mile up the road, at the old homestead) on Thanksgiving day. Started corn harvest the next day. Dad passed away Dec. 6 with some corn still standing. I finished about Christmas. There was a lot of corn that didn't make it.
