I was up in the woods cutting firewood this afternoon. I happend to be refueling my saw when cellphone rang. Women on the other end said my credit card had been compromised, and was shut down. She asked for all the numbers on my card for varification. I told her that I was in the middle of a 100A wood lot and never carry my wallet when cutting wood. She said call her as soon as posible. When I got home I had the wife call the recorded # on my phone. Verison message, (number not in service). The wife call our card 800#. They said they had not closed my card down, and it was not compromised. My wife's was compromised last week, and our CC company had shut it down WITH bogus charges. Be careful out there,-- make them verify who they are and read your credit card # to you, to verify that is yours, rather than giving it to them. If they can't, hang up and call the phone # on the back of your card. Loren, the Acg.
