Never give personal, financial, computer, or internet information over the phone unless you initiated the call and know who you are talking to.
Security, investment companies, credit card companies, IRS, Social Security, etc do not make contact about accounts by phone, email or text. It is almost always by regular mail.
I get endless calls to lower my credit card rates, fix my computer virus, etc. I just let them know that I know it is a scam and wonder how they can live with their conscience. I win when they hang up on me.
