Paul, One of the best additives on the market is Stanadyne's Performance Formula Jr. available thru your local fuel injection shop. Reccomend replacing injector nozzles with new ones if there is a lot of age on the injectors. Injectors wear just like anything else on a diesel and no amount of additive will correct it. New nozzles improves cranking, smoking, fuel consumption, power, and increases engine life. Poor nozzles waste fuel and that smoke you see is unburned fuel. This same unburned fuel is washing your cylinder liners down and causing premature wear. Keep it running strong, Diesel Dan (the pump man)
