I have replaced quite a few of'em in those and Ranger's (Same truck)... Its the #1 cause as to why I had to R&R the clutch. The needles come apart and causes it to act like the clutch does not release momentarily... The needles jam up tween the end of the main shaft and locks it up...
Its gravy work even if you have to go into the trans...
What was the issue that got you were you are at... I have seen the needles slap gone turned to dust and no were to be found.. The bearing shell was there what was left of it...
