: any suggestions? The small diesels all have glow plug starting aids. They are activated by turning the key to the extreme left, or a position just ahead of start. There may be others too. Anyway , these are like toaster coils, and will burn out in time. Generally, they screw into the intake manifold near the opening. Take the wire off, and remove it from manifold. Test it with a battery, if its good , it will glow!! good luck Cyrus
