Yup they came out with a lower octane this summer and it is showing. They now produce 85 octane and add 10% ethanol to get to 87 instead of adding 10% ethanol to 87 octane to get 89 octane.
And to add to that they haven't piped any 98 octane to our local plant for a long time. A lot of the stations are out of the Premium grades.
No number one diesel for winter blends is being pumped up either.
What is going on. Price is low so they just quit pumping to create a shortage to raise prices.
