Gas and diesel is sold on the stock exchange and no one else is having supply problems. In fact BP stores in Iowa supplied by Buckeye Partners have not seen any supply problems.
So could it be Magellan Midstream Partners; the biggest pipeline supplier in Iowa dropped the ball and did not order enough premium and No 1 diesel.
Reasons they may have dropped ball.
No 1 diesel; early; colder than expected weather.
Premium; Now with 84 octane gasoline you need to mix premium with it to get no ethanol pump grade 87 gasoline causing a bigger than normal demand for premium.
