I just had a tree service guy leave after taking a big tree down for me. The tree was a huge spreading maple on the corner of my driveway. It was four feet in diameter at the base and overhung utility wires, and our house and was dead down to the ground in a split. I had called a guy that had taken some limbs out of it a few years ago but he was away for an extended time. He told me what to expect to pay and told me that he would call a friend that could do it. After not hearing from that guy after two days, I went by the place of a local guy who I knew is supposed to be good but I had heard that he was also expensive. He looked at it and gave me a price that was considerably less than the first guy. Well, he came over this AM with a bucket truck and two helpers. I expected him to have to lower branches with rope but he didn't. He cut them all from the bucket and guided them to fall the right way with his saw and his hand. Even the ones over the house and the wires. He was like an artist with a saw instead of a brush. He was done and gone in two and a quarter hours, and saved me money.
