I was the cheap expensive guy, but these were trees next to the garden that were shading part of the garden and the roots were growing into the garden. I feel everybody's pain, literally, and I just got in from dragging the last tree out. One was a big poplar that is a little over 20 inches in diameter and tall. Unfortunately it's crooked so I wont be able to sell all of it for lumber. Another was a nice straight white oak that is a little small to get even one cut of lumber, but will make nice firewood. The worst trouble was some kind of yard tree that the birds must have set out. It was as crooked as both hind legs on a dog and was grown in amongst the poplar and a nie, 2 fence post cedar. No one in the family knew what kind of tree it is. Has bright yellow wood in the heart and oozed white milky sap. Seems to have light, soft and sorry wood. To top it off, I had to pull the logs up hill, making ruts in the yard. Smoothed ruts with a hoe. Need to chisel plow the garden now.
