The Brazilian truck engine is derived from the 401 cid (6.6L) Basildon tractor engine. IIRC, the 7.8L engine is just an expanded design with a longer stroke... The principle difference between the tractor engine and the truck engine is, as you now know... the fuel system. All 6.6L tractor engines of that vintage use CAV fuel systems. That said, the early 7.5L Genesis engines used Bosch systems that ay be very similar and the engines themselves were more or less derived from the truck engine. The 7.8L was also used in some NH combines of the day so you might find something there. There should be a lot of old school buses around with that engine tho... or at least a 6.6L that you can steal a pump from and turn it up..
