I recently bought my neighbor's 1967 Case 580CK backhoe. The engine was running, all I had to do is fix up the hydraulics. Good deal for $2000!
The engine started to act up lately.. it stalls after running fine for 15-20 minutes and won't start again for a few hours. It got gradually worse, first it started ta stall after 1.5-2 hours, then 1, then 30 min and so on.
The G188D engine starts up pretty easily, it smokes and burns oil, but runs smooth.. then it just dies. After a few hours it starts back up again and runs fine for another 15-20 minutes then it dies again.
I'm pretty sure it's the pump, but I could use some expert opinion to confirm it and pinpoint what the specific issue could be. I saw seal kits for these Roosa Master pumps on ebay for around $30 would that be enough to fix this issue?
Also if you could tell me where can I find a service manual for it that would be great!
